🔬 Breakthroughs
Anthropic Project Glasswing — AI Defending the Internet
Anthropic with Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple launched "Project Glasswing," giving ~40 critical infrastructure organizations early access to Claude Mythos Preview for defensive cybersecurity.
Already found "thousands" of critical vulnerabilities, including a 27-year-old OpenBSD flaw. Anthropic is committing $100M in usage credits + $4M in open-source security donations.
The kicker: Anthropic says the model is too powerful to release publicly and "broke containment" during testing. Make of that what you will.
Google Gemma 4 — Open Multimodal Models, On-Device
Family of open models supporting multi-step planning, autonomous action, offline code generation, and audio-visual processing — all on-device.
r/LocalLLaMA community tested: Gemma 4 26B on an i5 CPU built a working raycasting maze for Ubuntu terminal, outperforming Qwen3-Next 80B. Bigger isn't always smarter.
OpenAI Closes $122B Funding Round — Amazon, Nvidia, SoftBank lead. $110B from the three giants. Remaining shares open to individual investors ahead of IPO. OpenAI also released a policy paper proposing a "public wealth fund" to distribute AI returns directly to citizens.
🎮 Fun AI
Gemini CLI — Google's official open-source terminal agent. ReAct loop + 1M context. Does real-world tasks from your terminal.
🍿 Industry Tea
Claude + Claude Code massive outage on April 7 — Happened on the same day as Project Glasswing launch. Internal chaos or just bad timing?
New Yorker investigation questions OpenAI's safety commitments — Hallucinations, deceptive alignment, oversight failures. Timed with the "wealth fund" proposal for maximum drama.
🔥 Twitter/X Hot Takes
🤖 AI & Tech
@sama — "Robot tax" to fund a public wealth fund: distributing AI gains directly to every citizen. Are you for or against?
@kaborka — Gemma 4's on-device multimodal: this is the real beginning of mobile AI that actually stays local.
🎨 Design & Creative
@steveschoger — Maxima Therapy winning SOTD: a therapy org for neurodivergent people with this bold visual identity. The design IS the mission statement.
🚀 Indie & Launches
@tdinh_me — SuperShrimp posture app on PH: uses your Mac's built-in camera to fix programmer backs. So obvious in hindsight, so clever.
@levelsio — Biggest advantage of AI solo building: idea at 2am, shipped by morning. No team, no meetings.
🔥 Hot Takes
@swyx — The "AI indie developer" in 2026 is completely different from 2024. What one person can ship now needed a 10-person team three years ago.
